Supermodel Natalia Vodianova, the founder of the Naked Heart Foundation and member of Special Olympics International board of director, and the public movement and engagement campaign ‘Russia Loves Football!’ joined forces today to launch plans for The Special Match, which will take pace in Moscow on 13 July 2018, two days before the Russia 2018 World Cup final. Eventica is an operator of the project.
In a press launch last evening at the site of the new VTB Arena – Lev Yashina Central Dynamo Stadium, the plans were announced. This initiative is designed to raise awareness of the public stigma surrounding intellectual disability in Russia as well as introducing to public the important work of the Special Olympics itself – the world’s biggest sports charity which gives opportunities through sport to those with intellectual disabilities.
Eventica CEO Sergei Kolushev said: “This project is a first for our country. The fact that it will take place during the world’s greatest football event – the 2018 FIFA World Cup – only adds to the significance that this eye-catching event will have. We are looking forward to announcing our line-up of stars who will add their profile to The Special Match”.
